Mind over Matter

My recent visit to the Science discovery center of San Diego is quite interesting.

巧立名目

发现美国学校巧立名目吃空头的事也多得很。公立学校摊到每个学生头上的经费每年其实比私立学校多， 但教育质量差很多。光拿钱混时间不干活的人多得很， 还有好多各种各样的闲职。

看来，任何事情都不能吃大锅饭的。 教育也应该私有化。 中国教育传统好， 与好久以来的私塾制度恐怕都有些关系。美国也是一百多年前才开始这种大学堂似的公立教育，近三十年来每下愈况。好多期的时代杂志都有专文讨论。

教育费用每年都在削减，学生上学时间也愈来愈短. " Not a child be left behind", but the whole generation is fallen behind.

也许该让孩子去中国接受基础教育。
